Bruce Wilson is married to Melissa Baum Wilson and has two adorable daughters, Piper and Parker. For more than a decade Bruce and Melissa have operated Kid Power Cares Inc., a nationally touring non-profit field trip business to facilitate a growing passion for sharing health-oriented programming with kids nationwide.
With a degree in Musical Theatre Performance, Wilson moved from his home in Wichita, KS to New York City to pursue a career in theatre. A few notable roles include the national touring company of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as well as Singing in the Rain and Carnival.
In 2001, Wilson was hired to perform a one-man show for elementary-aged children and during that time he fell in love with both entertaining kids and the idea of presenting them curriculum-based programming. In 2008, Wilson assembled a team of talented artists to help him develop “Kid Power®” a modern day superhero. The team developed two ‘Kid Power® productions, with Wilson originally playing the title role. Wilson feels strongly that these shows incorporate musical theatre style singing, dancing, storytelling and humor, combined with lots of audience participation and hi-def interactive 3D technology because he believes children are more likely to retain the information when they are both entertained and engaged by it. “What I had not anticipated,” Wilson says, “was just how much the adults would love and embrace Kid Power shows as well. All ages love it.” So now, after much prayerful consideration, Kid Power® productions have expanded beyond the school day and are presented to family audiences in faith-based and other general public markets, giving kids of all ages, the Power of Feel Great! The two different curricula for the respective Kid Power® programs represent Wilson’s passion for educating America’s families about the benefits of healthy eating, regular exercise and protecting our natural environment.
When not touring with Kid Power, Wilson has served as the youth pastor of Pleasant Valley UMC of Wichita and the First UMC of Halstead. During the COVID-19 shutdown there was certainly no touring or live performances of any kind. This was a blessing of fatherhood to be at home with family. Last Christmas, Wilson felt God’s calling to inquire more about the requirement of being a local licensed pastor… and voila...welcome to Anthony and Harper. God is moving in new and exciting way!
Raised in Anthony, Lucinda Gates grew up harvesting wheat and driving tractors for her father. She has 4 older siblings and is a member of Revolution Fellowship.
Lucinda started substituting at Little Lambs Daycare in 2014. She loves to fellowship with fellow Christ followers as she works as an office assistant at AUMC, as well as still spending time at the daycare. Lucinda loves traveling; spending time outdoors; and camping outside in her tent.
If you can not find her playing tag with the daycare children, sorting through papers on the floor, or clickety-clacking on the computer keyboard; you just might find her curled up in a corner reading a book.
Lisa Blanco provides daily activities and positive interactions with the children at Little Lambs. She chose to return to Anthony where she spent summers with her grandmother from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She graduated from Chaparral High School. She has 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She formerly operated a home daycare. She loves riding her bike and gardening.
